Your first month
Hold the cello, tune it, and play your first notes. Learn to read music from scratch, get comfortable with the bow, and play your first recognizable songs.

Building Technique
Real music begins
Combine all four strings, add dynamics and expression, and learn finger extensions. You will play Amazing Grace, Over the Rainbow and a Bach minuet.

Shifting & Fluency
The exciting jump
Move up the neck into new positions, learn to shift smoothly and accurately, and build the speed and endurance classical repertoire demands.

The summit
Targeted etudes prepare your hands for each section, then I break down Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 measure by measure until you can play the whole thing.
The Finale
You complete the journey performing Bach's Cello Suite No. 1, the piece you have been building toward for sixteen weeks.

I am a professional Hawaii Symphony cellist, and I have been teaching cello for over 20 years.
I created this course because I believe learning cello should not cost a fortune. Most private lessons run $60 to $200 an hour, and even then you only get one lesson a week. I wanted to build something better: a daily program that breaks every technique into one simple skill so you learn the right way from the start.
